Xikar 70% RH Puck review

Posted in Cigars with tags , , , , , , , , , on May 14, 2012 by ethemethem

Before I begin ranting and raving about my new toy I’d like to make a confession. I am terrible at looking after my cigars. A busy work schedule coupled with family commitments and others mean that time is at a premium. The knock-on effect is that I occasionally don’t get to check my humidor when I would like to.

Bolivar Emiratos – UAE Exclusive cigars

Posted in Cigars with tags , , , , , , on May 8, 2012 by Eray

I’ve just got back from Dubai and have loads of cigar related tales from the big sandpit.

First up, I picked up a box of Bolivar Emiratos, which were released in February 2011 and exclusively distributed by “Mohebi Group” the owners of La Casa Del Habanos across the Middle East, running Casa Del Habanos in Dubai, Oman, Iran and suppliers of Qatar.

The cigars cone in box’s of 10s and are an impressive 6 1/2 inches long with a 54 ring guage
I’ve read a few reviews and have all been good so looking forward to lighting this bad boy up. I didn’t get the chance to smoke one while I was in Dubai so am taking a chance with a box of 10.

However being a big fan of Belicosos finos and gold medals, I know I’m not going to be disappointed.

As soon I get a chance, I’ll stick up a review for you all.

La Casa Del Habanos is located along the Dubai Marina opposite the Ritz Carlton and offer some great cigars at very low prices.

Bolivar Britanicas Hits UK Humidors

Posted in Cigars with tags , , , , on April 11, 2012 by ethemethem

The long awaited Regional Bolivars for the UK has arrived at British cigar stockists.

The Bolivar Britanicas, a full-bodied cigar weighing in at a nice 5 3/8″ length and 48 ring gauge has hit the shores of old blights slightly later than expected and is sure to hang around only for a very short while with only 3000 boxes of 10 made, at the mouth watering price of £145 a box over at c.gars ltd who have this great pre order price before shipping commences on the 16th April the offer is hugely tempting!

We’ve also had news that the Casa Del Habanos in Teddington, the only CDH in the UK already have stock and are selling them as of today at £166 a box.

A slight difference from this particular vitola to previous Regional Editions is the regional band no longer states ‘Exclusivo Reino Unido’ (United Kingdom Exclusive) but now read ‘Exclusivo Gran Bretaña’ (Great Britain Exclusive). Ajay Patel, proprietor of the CDH in Teddington told Cigar Aficionado that we can expect all future RE’s to the UK to use the same band. Something about people not knowing Reino Unido unless they spoke ‘Cuban Spanish’. Something I find quite unlikely due to the fact that it is quite commonly used in Spain in official documents referring to the UK.

Stay tuned for one excited bloggers review as soon as my order is in!

Snoop Dogg launches Executive Branch Cigars

Posted in Cigars, Music with tags , , , , on January 13, 2012 by Eray

It seems celebrity endorsement is out of control lately and celebs are signing up to push all sorts of products. However today finally we have a celebrity brand worth talking about and even buying.

Rapper Snoop Dogg is jumping into the tobacco industry with the launch of his new cigar label Executive Branch.

Snoop who we all know likes to smoke, is turning his hobby into a business move, which is a perfect move I’d say.

With Snoop headlining the 2012 Coachella Music Festival with Dr.Dre, it seems Snoop is using this as a perfect place to market and launch Executive Brand.

During Coachella, fans will have the option to purchase to purchase Snoop’s Executive Branch Cigarillos for $0.99 a pouch. Each pouch comes with two cigars. The cigars are packed with premium tobacco from the Dominican Republic.

To help ensure the highest quality tobacco, Snoop Dogg involved himself in the project, actually hand picking the tobacco.

Sounds like a great move for Snoop. Hopefully we will be able to get our hands on some and will do a review for you.
