OnLive Launches In The UK!

OnLive is the latest gaming tech, which allows you to stream games from ‘the cloud’ – basically the internet – straight to your TV or any internet enabled device you happen to have.
All you need is a controller, OnLive box and a subscription (for all you can eat gaming), which costs a mere £6.99 a month or purchase games like you would do for PS3 or Xbox but for PC prices – good news is you can also buy your first game for £1!
To start with there are over 150 titles to choose from including Deus Ex, Alien vs Predator, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Batman Arkham Asylum, DiRT 3, F.E.A.R 3, Duke Nukem Forever, Hitman: Blood Money, Just Cause 2, Mafia II, Prince Of Persia, Red Faction, Saints Row, Unreal Tournament III and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and many more will be added…

Sounds great right? But thats not all it can do. Aside from actually playing games, you’ll be able to watch other people play games live, by browsing a wall with hundreds of live video feeds, record your best gaming moments as ‘brag clips’ and posted them to Facebook. One user has been drawing works of art on the white board from the start of Duke Nukem Forever, everyday, for months! You can also add friends and watch game trailers and reviews with the service too.

All this for a lot less than you’d think, £69.99 will get you the console and a controller (which we’re sure you’ll be familiar with). You can rent games and play demos of the first 60 minutes for free. If you then buy the whole game, you can continue from where you finished the demo. As we mentioned already first-time OnLive purchasers get their first game for just £1. BT broadband customers can get 100+ PlayPack Games for free for 3 months in addition to the OnLive PlayPass £1 game offer, a £20.97 value.
