Ghost Bar Day Club – Las Vegas

Posted in Going Out with tags , , , , , , , on January 16, 2012 by Cut The Cap

So New Year’s Eve for most people involves rushing around, stocking up on whatever alcohol you can get your hands on before making your way to the local Iceland supermarket to grab the last of the festive 75 piece platters.

For me this year, I had the pleasure of waking up to the sight of the Las Vegas Boulevard.

I had woken up with a bad hangover from the night before, but not wanting to let it stop me enjoying Vegas, I wolfed down a steak and grabbed a cab over to the Palms to spend an afternoon at the GBDC (Ghost Bar Day Club)

As we approached the Palms, we could already see people dancing from the balcony of Ghost bar which only got my adrenalin pumping more.

What made the event even more special was that Snooki from Jersey Shore was hosting the night (yes we all know I like Jersey Shore)

As we entered the lift, I could feel the adrenalin kicking in and as the lift got higher and higher and as we got closer we could begin to hear the beat pumping form the house music coming from the club.

Like a crescendo, as the lift doors opened it was like walking into a music video. There were dancers on the bar, there were women on stilts dancing, all matched perfectly to an amazing soundtrack supplied by the DJ.

We grabbed a drink (water for me) and headed out to the terrace to enjoy the unusually warm December rays. I couldn’t help but feel like I was in Ibiza, with the sun shining and the music pumping – I felt I was home.

In a strange way the music and atmosphere actually helped my hangover and once I finished my water – I was back on the Vodka red bulls. (coincidentally Red Bull  Las Vegas were the sponsor of the event)

Then Snooki arrived and the club went nuts. There was security everywhere, cameras flashing and people calling Snooki for a photo (yes I was one of them)
I tried to get in line to grab a photo, but I think the fact that I was male left me as a big disadvantage. However I didn’t let it get me down because the club had such a great vibe and atmosphere about it.

GBDC was a great way to spend New Year’s Eve afternoon. The music was on point, the people were friendly and the vibe was perfect.

We had to leave early to ensure we could get back to the hotel before the road was blocked off that evening, so missed the piñata and all the other shenanigans, but I will be back!

I’d recommend anyone to stop by GBDC on a visit to Vegas. The day club kicks off every Saturday from 1pm.

If you are planning on going. I’d recommend getting on the guest list. Check out all the info and contacts you need here at http://kineticevents.com/N9NEGroup/GBDC/

I did have some great pics and videos, however I lost my camera  :-(

Las Vegas – New Year’s Eve Countdown

Posted in Cigars, Drink, Going Out with tags , , , , , on December 29, 2011 by Cut The Cap

It’s that time of year once again where all your friends ask that vital question “what you doing for New years?”

Usually my response has always been, “nothing planned” however this year I say no to BBC1 showing images of Big Ben and get to say my favourite word “VEGAS”

In 24 hours, I’ll be on a Virgin Atlantic flight out of London heading straight for Sin city for a week of partying and fun.

What better way is there to see in the New Year than on Las Vegas Boulevard watching the fireworks display?

Sure, I could pay over $300 to be crammed into a club and see some sort of celebrity get paid half a million dollars to wave at the crowd (that’s if I get in), but I’d rather soak up the town from the outside.

I arrive Friday 30th and am already stuck for what to do. I could head over to Bank nightclub to see fellow Brit Tinie Tempah perform at Bank Club in the Bellagio, or on the other hand I could hop in a cab to the hard Rock and catch DJ Pauly D spinning at Vanity Nightclub at the Hard Rock.

Either way, it’s looking like as soon as I land the party will be kicking off faster than you can say “Wolf-Pack”

I’ll be video blogging and tweeting back from Las Vegas to make sure you’re following us on Twitter and right here at cutthecap.com

I’ll be sampling the best of the nightlife as well as finding some great cigar friendly bars and terraces so watch this space.

Some of the things I can’t wait to see:

The view from the newly opening Hyde at Bellagio
Case Fuente at the Forum Shops
The Gun Store

If there is anything you think I need to do/see, let me know
See you on the other side

Tinie Tempah – Bank Club Las Vegas #DISTURBINGLASVEGAS

Posted in Going Out with tags , , , , on December 21, 2011 by Cut The Cap

With Las Vegas just over a week away, we’ve started mapping out our domination plan of the strip and today we learn that fellow Londoner Tinie Tempah will be performing at The Bank Club, located in the Bellagio on December 30th.

It’s no coincidence that this even falls on my first night in sin city, so I feel it would be rude not to attend.

Hopefully I’ll be blogging about the night, so watch this space for more info and pictures/videos.

My aim is to get a picture with Tinie smoking a cigar. It probably won’t happen, but then again it’s Vegas, Anything can happen!!!

Tinie has been tearing up in the USA and after opening up for Usher on his OMG tour, this will be a night not to be missed.

Keep it Cut the Cap for more info on how we will be #disturbinglasvegas and if you see someone smoking a cigar in the club – it will probably be me.

Check out the RT I Got from him today! Does this mean me and Tinie are mates now? lol

I wonder if I can get him to come to Bill’s for late night Steak and Eggs!

New Full Length Ciroc Advert

Posted in Drink with tags , , , , , , , on December 20, 2011 by Cut The Cap

Today I also have the full length Ciroc advert which was recently filmed in Vegas. I posted the mini ad the other day but today I have the full 4 minute version.

The video stars Diddy, Matt Goss, Frank Vincent as well as many other famous actors.

It’s more like a short movie than a advert and sums up Vegas for me perfectly. From landing to cheering the sunrise (except I flew with Virgin rather than a private jet)

It excited me on so many levels, especially as in 10 days I’ll be in Vegas in my 3 piece suit sipping Ciroc exactly like this video.

And to top it off, the track used in the video is one of my favourite Frank Sinatra songs, ‘Luck be a Lady’

Anyway, enough about me, enjoy:

Ciroc Vodka – New Commercial with Diddy and Matt Goss

Posted in Cigars, Drink, Going Out with tags , , , , , on December 15, 2011 by Cut The Cap

Sometimes I find it weird to blog about adverts. However when it’s Ciroc Vodka, I think we are allowed.

I blogged last week about Diddys bull jumping for Ciroc and today I now have the new ad featuring Diddy, Matt Goss, Frank ‘go home and get ya shine box’ Vincent as well as many other famous actors.

The ad sees them living it up Vegas style. Something I was privileged to have experienced in March with my fellow Wolf Pack.

Also, at this point I would like to take credit for the inspiration of this advert (even though I wasn’t)

All the partying featured in the ad, even the raising your glass to the sunrise….We did that lol

Check out the video below as well as a behind the scenes video. My trip to Vegas in 15 days will be sponsored by Ciroc Vodka no doubt!

Trey Songz celebrates his birthday in Vegas with Cigars

Posted in Cigars, Music with tags , , , , , , on November 30, 2011 by Cut The Cap

Trey Songz was in our favourite town last weekend to celebrate his 27th birthday at Lavo Nightclub located inside the Palazzo Hotel. The pictures show he was in high spirits along with friends Ne-Yo and comedian Kevin Hart.

Trey and Ne-Yo recently collaborated on a track with T-Pain where they smoked cigars throughout, so looks like they have joined the club

The drinks seemed to be flowing and what would go perfectly with clubbing in Vegas…. cigars!

I can’t make out what cigars they are; however we have heard before that Trey Songz favours the Arturo Fuente Opus X.

Bottoms up Trey!

Las Vegas 2011 – 2012 Night Club Update

Posted in Going Out, Travel with tags , , , , , , , , , , on November 15, 2011 by Cut The Cap

New Year Eve is no more than 6 weeks away, and while I scramble to sell my blood to earn extra Vegas spending money, today I have some excellent news with what’s happening in some of the nightclubs for New Year’s Eve.

With Most of the Cut the Cap team covering Barcelona, Mexico and Cuba over the next few weeks, it’s down to me to cover off Las Vegas for New Years. (poor me I hear you say)

First things first, when it comes to planning Vegas, my biggest pecee of advice is book your nightclubs early, as the lines get big and long, and on a special night like New Years you don’t want to see in 2012 looking at the back of some drunk guy who keeps stumbling onto you. So at Cut the Cap we want to give you a helping hand and let you know what the nightclubs are doing for the night.

Firstly, Holly ‘Peepshow’ Madison who is one of the best known celebrities on the strip thanks to her E! Show ‘Hollys World’ will be ringing in the New Years at Gallery Nightclub at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Madison is a multi-talented and very busy lady. When she’s not on TV, she headlines Planet Hollywood’s sexy revue, “Peepshow”. She’s also a guest correspondent for entertainment news show, “Extra” and author of “The Showgirl Next Door: Holly Madison’s Las Vegas.”

All in a day’s work for her as on New Year’s Eve she’ll be ensuring a night to remember at Gallery Nightclub at Planet Hollywood.

If you want to enquire or book tickets, here are the details, but get them fast as it will be a busy night.

If Holly’s not your cup of tea, then head over Chateau Nightclub & Gardens to see in the New Years on the rooftop with Reality TV’s Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick.

Located in the Paris Hotel right near The Sugar Factory (they do great Eggs Benedict at 7am) this night will offer a great view of the Fireworks from the rooftop overlooking the Las Vegas Strip.

The couple (also known for their show on E!) will host the official New Year’s Eve bash at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens along with thousands of party goers enjoying dancing, drinking, and a champagne toast to ring in 2012.

If you fancy seeing in the New Year ‘Kardashian style’, then get your tickets here:

With so much going on I feel like a kid in a candy shop…. (or a sugar factory!) One thing for sure I will be with 3 ladies so I guess the fate of the night will be left in their hands as to which night we go to. Whatever happens Cut the Cap will be reporting back on all things Vegas for New Year’s so watch this space.

Las Vegas New Years Eve 2011-2012

Posted in Cigars, Going Out with tags , , , , on November 3, 2011 by Cut The Cap

Its official, I’m off to Las Vegas for New Year’s eve.

With Vegas being my (self-proclaimed) second home, it’s going to be great to see in the New Year on Las Vegas Blvd.

This will be my 4th time in Vegas and with one of my best friends stag party planned for Vegas next year, it won’t be the last.

I’m going with the wife so at least it won’t be a repeat of my stag party from March. (Then again we do like to party)

I will be blogging and documenting the experience for you all, as well as checking out some great cigar bars and nightclubs around the area. (I may have to create a separate section on this site for Vegas)

While I’m there I’m especially looking forward to visiting Casa Fuente and Rhum bar. On my last 2 trips to Las Vegas I’ve been meaning to visit and test out the cigars and cocktails, so will be looking forward to sitting back and relaxing and reviewing the venues.

If anyone can think of places I need to visit, please let me know as I want to visit as many places as possible.

More info to follow on my trip to Vegas..
